The Healthcare Data Analytics Certificate is designed by industry professionals to prepare students to sit for the Certified Health Data Analyst exam. The certificate uses Excel, Access and different databases to query data and build useful evaluation tools using Tableau Data Visualization software. The certificate is designed to track healthcare trends and provide useful data in a secure and valid process from retrieval to sharing across an organization. The certificate is designed to enable healthcare organizations to get the data they need to show an accurate story of the outcomes it tells. Students are prepared to work in any healthcare organization with the value add of data analytics.

Admission Requirements
- Admission to Arapahoe Community College
- Valid background check, no more than one-year-old and valid through practicum experience
- Admission Requires one of the Following:
- Earned College Degree (Baccalaureate degree, Associate of Science degree, AA, AGS or Associate of Applied Science in a healthcare area of study) from a regionally accredited college or university, or
- An official transcript must be on file in Admissions and Records prior to enrolling in Health Information Technology classes towards the Healthcare Data Analytics Certificate and
- Demonstration of college-level English proficiency; this may be done via successful completion of a college-level English Composition course, equivalent ACT / SAT/ CLEP / AP test scores, equivalent college placement test scores, etc.)
- Demonstration of college-level Math proficiency; this may be done via successful completion of a college-level English Composition course, equivalent ACT / SAT / CLEP / AP test scores, equivalent college placement test scores, etc.)
- Successful completion of college-level Mathematics class or assessment to be at college level for Mathematics (see Student Resources and Services - Assessment in this Catalog)
- Program Chair approval based on at least one year of healthcare related work experience
- Supporting documentation must be submitted to the Department Chair and the student must be formally admitted to the program
- Successful completion of college-level English AND college-level Mathematics with a grade of “C” or better, OR assessment at college level for English (see Student Resources and Services - Assessment in this Catalog)
- Students must contact the program student success coordinator for advising and program planning prior to enrolling in any HIT courses. Once the advising process is completed, students may enroll in HIT classes; enrollment in classes will not be permitted without such Program approval.
- Program approval is required in order to transfer credit for health information technology classes (HIT) from other institutions; courses may be transferred to the program ONLY if they were taken from a CAHIM-approved program at a regionally accredited institution.

Graduation Requirements
- All major education and other courses required for this degree must be completed with a “C” or better to meet graduation requirements.
- To graduate, students must apply for graduation and complete the graduation survey (available via myACC). (form available at www.arapahoe.edu/graduation)
- After applying for graduation, all correspondence to a student about the status of their program conferral will be sent to their student email address only.
- As a graduate of a Career and Technical Education program you will be contacted by an ACC employee in approximately six months to verify your employment information. This information gathering is a federal requirement to ensure that ACC receives certain federal funding.
