The Allied Health Associate of Applied Science degree is tailored to prepare students for immediate employment in the healthcare field while laying a foundation for career advancement. Students develop practical skills, including applying medical terminology, performing clinical procedures, and assisting patients in diverse healthcare settings. Graduates are equipped to meet the demands of various entry-level roles and have the opportunity to continue their education in advanced healthcare programs.
All students enrolled in the Allied Health AAS program have the opportunity to earn the Medical Office Administrative Assistant Certificate, enabling them to start working in the healthcare field while they are still pursuing their studies, should they choose to do so. Additionally, Allied Health students may opt to complete one of three supplementary healthcare industry certificates offered at ACC: Medical Assistant Certificate, Nurse Aide Certificate, or Phlebotomy Certificate. Successfully completing the required courses for these certificates will result in a certificate of completion, which will potentially allow students to work in their selected field or advance their studies within the Allied Health program or many of the other Health Pathways programs offered at ACC.
A full-time student can complete this Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in two years.
