The Building Controls Technology program is focused on training students to maintain, install, and troubleshoot essential systems in modern buildings. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics including DC/AC electricity, industrial wiring, control systems, construction materials and systems, and building environmental systems. Students will learn to install, repair, and maintain a building’s computer-controlled mechanical and electrical systems, including its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, energy management systems and related components. The program has been designed in partnership with the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) with the goal to train a skilled workforce to help fill the labor shortage in this high-demand career field.

Graduation Requirements

- As a graduate of a Career and Technical Education program you will be contacted by an ACC employee in approximately six months to verify your employment information. This information gathering is a federal requirement to ensure that ACC receives certain federal funding.
