The purpose of a statewide articulation agreement is to identify the courses a student at a Colorado public community college must complete as part of an AA/AS degree to be guaranteed to be able to complete the designated baccalaureate degree program at any public four-year college and university (hereafter referred to as receiving institutions) that offers that program within the minimum number of credits designated by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

Program Outcomes
- Thoroughly understand a specified issue, as demonstrated through a comprehensive written or oral response.
- Produce a thesis/analysis about a work of art that reveals personal, thoughtful engagement with the material.
- Analyze own and others’ assumptions, to understand the methods of art historians and the institutions of art history, as well as understand socio-cultural contexts.
- Analyze and/or evaluate artworks through an aesthetic/visual, historical, or semiotic lens which includes significant, intriguing detail that supports the interpretation.
- Develop content and conclusions in an appropriate documentation system that communicates analysis, evidence, and understanding in a researched, clear, focused, and persuasive manner. Student must be able to share this information in a convincing oral presentation.

- *This course requires college level readiness as measured by Accuplacer, ACT, or SAT scores; approved high school course work that is less than five years old; or successful completion of appropriate college-readiness course.
- AAA 1001 – College 101: Student Experience is required for all new college students seeking degrees or transfer.
- Arts/Humanities Gen Ed: Art History Degree with Designation (DWD) students are strongly encouraged to take foreign languages, as they are required for most 4 year programs.
- Electives: Select from any GT course, AAA 1001 , AAA 1009 , ACC 1021 , ACC 1022 , BUS 1015 , BUS 2016 , BUS 2017 , BUS 2026 , CIS 1018 , COM 1150 , COM 2220 , CSC 1060 , CSC 1061 , ENG 1031 (or higher), HNR 1000 , HNR 2089 , HWE 1060 , HWE 1065 , MAT 1240 (or higher), any Foreign Language courses (including ASL) numbered 1011 or higher, or any course in the following prefixes except Special Topics, Independent Study, Capstone, and Internships: ANT, ART, BIO (1000 or above), CHE, HIS, HUM, LIT, MUS, PED, PHI, PHY (1000 or above), POS, PSY, SOC.

- In order to meet program requirements, students registered for ENG 1021 or ENG 1031 must also register for ENG 0094 unless they can demonstrate otherwise meeting the ENG 0094 standard through assessment testing, prior college coursework, or recent High School coursework. - Recommended courses are listed above for certain electives; consult with the Academic Advising Office (advising@arapahoe.edu or 303.797.5664) or the Art History Department for additional elective recommendations.
- Refer to 2022/2023 catalog for specific requirements and important information about this degree.
- Students planning to transfer to CSU-FC will be required to complete a 2000-level foreign language for completion of the BA in Art – Art History. Students will be expected to be prepared upon completion of the associate’s degree to take an intermediate foreign language or be able to pass the CSU-FC Foreign Language placement exam at the sophomore level. It may not be possible to complete the BA in Art – Art History concentration in two years without this prior foreign language competency.
